Welcome to our online Magazine section of Afsana - Our Stories!
I'm Maah-Noor, a Final year English Student at Oxford Univerity, intersted in all things jounalism, social justice and South Asia! My interests are what led to Afsana being born.
Upon visiting Pakistan and speaking to a wide array of people, especially those of the labouring class - a majority class with a minority voice - I resolved that I wanted to, in whatever capacity I'm able to, give them the recognition they deserve and change the narrative around the workforce.
Due to COVID 19, the on groundwork in Pakistan has been put on hold and in this time we have launched our online magazine. This is not limited to those of a Pakistani background - but is open to all for submissions. Please have a look at our 'Get Involved' section. We would love to hear from you! Submissions are primarily focused on Culture/ Art/ Op Ed's/ thoughts etc but this list isnt exhaustive. We are taking submissions on a rolling basis and will work with you to edit your pieces. We are also running a current collaboration and are asking people to submit revamped versions of childhood folktales - please do check this out!
I'm really excited for the launch of Afsana - Our Stories and would rightly call it a 'passion project' I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and are able to join the family by both contributing and following our work!
